about victoria ryan
I had been interested in complementary and alternative medicine for a long time, especially the use of herbs in health and healing. While working as a social worker for the Town of Greenwich, CT, I planned to take a few classes in Oriental Medicine to learn about the field, but then found out I was pregnant with my first child. Following his birth, and driven by my interest, I decided to study Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs full time rather than return to my position.
I spent two years at Pacific College then transferred to Tri-State College of Acupuncture for the opportunity to study herbal medicine with Andrew Gamble, co-author of the Materia Medica, the book used by all practitioners of Oriental Medicine.
For the following four years after graduation, I had a successful gynecology and fertility specific practice in NYC before moving to Connecticut. In 2011 I joined the staff of the Addiction and Recovery Unit of Greenwich Hospital as a social worker and was also appointed to the Hospital's Department of Psychiatry as an Acupuncturist. In 2016 I left Greenwich Hospital to focus on working with private clients.
My combination of education and experience affords me the ability to approach wellness using a holistic model and I am passionate about empowering clients to feel better, stronger and reach specific physical and emotional health goals.
